Greenpeace activists dumped ton of algae outside the French government HQ to protest against industrialisation of livestock farming. The activists rolled out a banner reading “Factory farms: not here, not elsewhere“, in reference to the 3010 factory farms in France, nearly half of which are in Brittany. Other banners highlighted the impact of factory farming on this region in particular: “ Green algae : Brittany asphyxiated“, “Animal factories: Brittany is overcrowded“ and “Brittany polluted: the state is guilty“.
