8-3-2021 Oroville, Ca Oroville Reservoir drops to record low level- Extreme Drought- Climate Change

***NOT FOR BROADCAST*** Contact Brett Adair with Live Storms Media to license. brett@ The Oroville Reservoir which is the 2nd largest reservoir in California and supplies water to millions reaches an all time low of 643’. The old record was set in 1977 at 645’. The reservoir is dropping about a foot a day with months left in the dry season as the climate crisis and extreme drought deepen. Drone shots from a few days ago show the incredibly low water levels, bath tub rings, and house boats bunched in tight groups because the surface area of the lake is so much less than normal. At 640’ the dam no longer can produce electricity. The hydroelectric plant provides enough electricity for 800,000 people.
