iXS Trail Stories: Where the Trail Begins

Experience the wonders of Patagonia, a place known as “the end of the world,“ in the second episode of iXS Trail Stories. Follow iXS rider Adrien Loron as he unveils the transformation of this rugged terrain into a dream destination for mountain biking. Bariloche, nestled on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, is the gateway to Patagonia’s iconic region. With its majestic Andes Mountains and a vibrant community of approximately 160,000 residents, this city has become a hub for outdoor enthusiasts, including avid mountain bikers like Bojan and Cepi – two locals who work hard to put Patagonia on the map. iXS rider Adrien Loron first came to Bariloche to participate in an iXS Downhill Cup race. He was amazed by the warm welcome of the local community, fell in love with the place, and realized how much potential there is to ride trail, enduro and downhill. But it is hard work to craft the region into a real dream destination and you’ll learn that it’s impossible without a strong community. When Adrien went trail building with the guys, he experienced for himself how diverse this community is. From pro riders to weekend warriors, family and friends, men and women- they are all united by the same passion. Together as a team, they manage to tame the wildest of terrains. This episode also covers the inspiring initiative of Bojan and Cepi, a duo that has established an MTB school in order to introduce children to the sport and instill the importance of trail building. Through hands-on experiences, these young riders learn the art of maintenance, the thrill of designing new lines, and the satisfaction of riding the trails they helped to create. This education creates a deeper understanding of trail development and cultivates a new generation of passionate mountain bikers. Bariloche’s mountain bike community has laid a solid foundation for this emerging mountain biking haven. With unwavering dedication and a focus on educating future riders, they are writing the first chapter of mountain bike history in this remote corner of the world. Witness the birth of a dream destination, where the love for mountain biking flourishes and the trails come to life.
