It’s a lifeline for thousands dreaming of a new life in the USA. This is the last, the scariest, and the most dangerous part of the migrant journey. Migrants have to cling to the train’s carriages, risking falls, kidnapping by cartels, robbery by immigration officials, and death from the freezing cold nights. As I have been following the Venezuelan walkers, I realized that to truly understand what they go through on their long trip to the USA, I would have to face ’La Bestia’ myself, sooner or later.
