🔬 160 - Face Mask under the Microscope. Literally. | Amateur Microscopy
Many face masks are not made of cotton, but of some kind of synthetic fibers. These fibers can be seen well under the microscope and it is also possible to see that they are heat sensitive (they can melt). This is something that cotton does not do. These masks are not biodegradable, so you have to dispose of them properly.
No Worms on your Face Mask:
I do not want to censor any comments, but many of the comments here question the use of masks. I disagree completely. There is plenty of evidence that the masks have reduced the spread of the virus. This public health measures has also reduced the spread of other diseases, such as the common cold and the flu. Mask deniers will use any argument and excuse not to wear them, thus risking not only their health, but also the health of others. This will prolong the epidemic yet more, with the fatal consequences that we are already able to see.
