Deadend Magazine Feature - Joel Chavarin’s 1954 Mercury
The 1954 Mercury may be a little under appreciated in the custom car world, maybe do to the popularity of 1954 Chevrolets. But we believe that adds value to them because it makes it that much cooler when we do see a well styled mild custom 54 Merc.
This one is owned by our friend Joel from the Autoholics car club in Southern California. We have seen this car transformed throughout the years from suede paint to a show quality street car with fully done interior and chrome. Joel had Jack Fields at Kraftsman Autoworks in Torrance CA take care of the custom body mods like the flush fender skirts and the sectioned and lowered tail lights. Along with most of the other custom work including the paint. Aside from the simple and tasteful custom work done on this Mercury, the coolest thing about it is that Joel drives it and enjoys it. He even made the 5 hour drive up to our Custom Capital show in Prunedale CA this past June where he took home the Deadend Magazine pick.
