Full title reads: “Miners Wives’ Football Final“. Northumberland. Charity football match between wives of striking miners. M/S of women’s football team posing for camera in front terrace houses and a small crowd. M/S of another women’s team, all wear baggy shorts and boots. The women laugh a lot and seem embarrassed to be filmed. M/S of two team captains standing in middle of muddy field. They both shake hands with male referee. The then toss the coin, the winner points in the direction her team will shoot. Various shots the football match. Various shots of small but enthusiastic crowd of friends and family watching from sidelines. The game seems chaotic - at one point one of players appears to shout at men standing behind the goal. Good M/S of a penalty being scored, the rest of the team shakes the scorer’s hand. Cuts / out takes start at 01:09:09. Some shots of players and some crowd gathered around an injured player.
