Վան գործողություն (Van Operation) - ASALA Song in Armenian about the 1981 Turkish Consulate Takeover

In September 1981, four fighters of the Armenian Marxist-Leninist group ASALA (Vazken Sislian, Kevork Guzelian, Aram Basmajian, and Hagop Julfaian) carried out an attack on the Turkish Consulate in Paris. They demanded the immediate release of Armenian, Turkish, and Kurdish political prisoners held by the fascist state of Turkey. The operation was planned by Monte Melkonian and this was called one of the greatest propaganda and military successes of ASALA due to the amount of ’noise’ created around the world regarding the Armenian National Liberation Struggle.
