Tatra T700 – A crazy car you probably never heard of (+ Tatra 613)

Today, I’m going to tell you the story of a very rare and almost unknown car that was actually very cool and somewhat crazy for the Nineties – the Tatra 700 that was produced in the Czech Republic from 1996 to 1999. Tatra 700 was in large part mechanically based on the Tatra 613, so I’m going to talk a little about the Tatra 613 as well. Tatra 700 was the only executive car in the Nineties with an air-cooled, rear-mounted V8 engine. And this engine was a good one. The car was hand-built with the utmost quality. And it was actually a very comfortable car. The car required slightly different handling than other cars. Even normal city driving required keeping the revs closer to the second part of the tachometer which was very unusual for an executive car. Also, the heavy rear part required different cornering techniques especially at high speed and on slippery roads. But once you got accustomed to those specifics, you understood that the car was actually very pleasant to drive. Maybe it wasn’t the best car in the world, but it definitely was an outstanding one. *** The videos mentioned in this video: Lada Riva: Saab 9000: *** If you’d like to buy a classic, exotic, or enthusiast car in Europe and bring it to the United States – we can help.
