Fred Astaire, His sister Adele and Marilyn Miller in one of the very rare pieces of film of Astaire on stage, during a rehearsal for “Smiles“ on Broadway in 1930. Flo Ziegfeld on the left says “I didn’t call for my ten-thousand-dollar-a-week dancers“ as they enter and exit. Just think $10,000 a week in 1930. That’s $135,000 a week in today’s money.
