Hippo’s Environmental Enrichment

Enrichments created by zoo keepers are an ideal way to encourage animal’s curiosity and natural behaviors. This is why no enrichment is like any another, there should be a great variety of them. It must also be thought out specifically for each animal and changed from time to time in order to be contributing to animal’s activity and creativity. In this case, the pygmy hippos, a part of the Loro Parque family, are enjoying a delicious snack both on land and in the water, as they are studying the enclosure from corner to corner curious about any new detail.
