Strong evidence that poverty among certain ethnicities in Britain is not linked to racism

Various undesirable social phenomena in Britain, ranging from poverty and academic underachievement to numbers in prison, appear to be associated with ethnicity. Whenever such things are arranged on a gradient, those of Chinese heritage are invariably at one end and people of African origin at the other. The traditional explanation advanced for this is systemic racism in society. Today we look briefly at proof that this is not always the case.
