For most mammals, baby season lasts from April – June here in Arizona. Six months later, the weather has cooled, the babies have grown, and our incredible Animal Care staff and volunteers have the pleasure of seeing the little ones they nursed get to their final step here at Southwest Wildlife: Release!
We don’t publicize where our wildlife gets released, but rest assured they’re let go in an area appropriate for their species’ survival and far away from human contact. Our goal, as always, is to give them the best chance at the life they were meant to live: a wild one.
To join the effort to rescue, rehabilitate, and release Arizona mammals, visit and check out all the ways you can contribute.
