Baby Elephant–Three Days Old!

This baby #elephant, only three days old, was learning the ropes from Mom and seemed particularly happy when she found them a puddle! The video clips and additional #wildlife photos were taken on #safari in 2017 in Kenya’s Mara North Conservancy. It was unusual to find Mom and her #babyelephant, pink ears shining brightly, separated from her herd. We thought, perhaps, it was her first and she had slowed down. It was late morning and the sun was already quite harsh, so the small mud puddle was a welcome relief. It was a delight to spend time with them and we went out again the next afternoon in the pouring rain to find them. We came across the pair on the open plains.
