HTV-9 external pallet released from the International Space Station

International Space Station mission controllers in Houston commanded the Canadarm2 robotic arm to release an external pallet loaded with old nickel-hydrogen batteries into Earth orbit on 11 March 2021. According to NASA, the pallet has a mass of about 2.9 tons and will orbit Earth between two to four years before burning up harmlessly in the atmosphere. Credit: NASA
