Beautiful Lithuanian-Sanskrit street art in Delhi! Envoy explains language linkages, speaks in Hindi

With aim to promote cultural exchange between India-Lithuania, Lithuanian Embassy in India has undertaken an artistic way. The Embassy has painted the walls of a school in New Delhi with common words in Sanskrit and Lithuanian. Wall is full of beautiful paintings showing connections in languages along with words like Madhu, Deva, and Agni. Calling it pride for Lithuania to have close connections with Sanskrit, Lithuanian Envoy informed about Embassy’s aim in India. Amid sharing about her passion and love for Hindi, the Lithuanian envoy also opened up about her intention to hone her Hindi speaking skills. The envoy also spoke on the goal to enhance the use of Hindi in Lithuania. “It is a recognised and scientific fact that Lithuanian is the closest sister language of Sanskrit. Our idea is to research it and make it more known. In my country, we take pride in having this close connection. The fact is not so known in India, so intention is to inform the people. We have also published this dictionary with words that are identical in both languages. We asked artist to depict the similarity through painting.
