Brachystola magna (Plains Lubber Grasshopper) cannibalism

Brachystola magna (Plains Lubber Grasshopper) male cannibalizing a dying female. If you look closely, you can see the abdomen of the female pulsating. Female was likely struck by a truck ~15 minutes prior to video. Found on a sideroad off of US 377, Edwards County, Texas on 7 July, 2012. This was a common sight in Edwards county on this week. Many lubbers were found cannibalizing roadkill. There was some evidence that a few of the cannibals became roadkill themselves. Sorry about the noise in the video. I
