14-year-old suspect in custody after Georgia school shooting

A suspect is in custody after opening fire at a high school in Georgia, killing four and leaving at least nine more hospitalized, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, in what appears to be the first deadly K-12 school shooting in the state since at least 1999. The Sept. 4 shooting at Apalachee High School in Barrow County — about 50 miles northeast of Atlanta — resulted in a chaotic scene of gridlocked cars, terrified students and parents desperately trying to reunite with their children, who were evacuated to a nearby football field.
