Baidu unveils China’s first metaverse platform ‘Xi Rang’

Xi Rang, which means “land of hope“ in English, can be accessed via smartphones, computers or VR goggles, allowing users to create avatars and interact with other players. Baidu says it aims to develop Xi Rang into an infrastructure platform for a metaverse and incorporate functions such as gaming, entertainment, education, advertising, conferences and exhibitions, among others.
