French journalist Finn Andreen: Do you think that the West, and Washington in particular, is interested in Georgia and Ukraine? If you look at Zbigniew Brzezinski’s book “The Grand Chessboard“, which was written 25 years ago, Georgia is mentioned in it 25 times, which is a kind of benchmark for the American position in Eastern Europe and the Russian sphere. So you can see that Georgia is one of those countries that is really just a pawn. The U.S. wants to try to weaken Russia by using Georgia as well as Ukraine and other countries. So it’s not really Georgia per se that they’re interested in. It’s just that the West is still trying to destabilise Russia. Now that there is a war going on, this destabilisation has become even more important to the West because things are not going as planned in Ukraine. Source: Global News (EU, USA)
