Classic Circuit: The Three Component Oscillator - sponsored by SolderStick Wire Connectors Get solderstick at 20% OFF with discount code “LE20“ at In this video we use a Hex inverting Schmitt Trigger along with a resistor and a capacitor to create a very simple and robust relaxation oscillator. Attach a resistor across pins 1 and 2. Pin 1 is the 1st input, pin 2 is the 1st output so the resistor becomes a feedback loop. Next attach a capacitor between pin 1 and ground. The resistor and capacitor become an RC circuit and the timing can be calculated by using the formula t=RC. The Schmitt Trigger function of the IC introduces hysteresis and prevents false triggers the sawtooth capacitive charge discharge wave and outputs a nearly perfect square wave. ************************************************************************* *Please help support this channel at NO COST TO YOU.
