“AIRWOLF“: ’Daddy’s Gone a Hunt’n’ (#) - Original CBS Promo

“For the series premiere of AIRWOLF! As Stringfellow Hawke, and Dominic Santini, are forced into a volatile world of cross and double-cross, on a perilous mission of stealth and hi-tech treason, to save a war orphan, who may be Stringfellow’s son. The exciting television movie begins it’s run as a new series. AIRWOLF premieres Saturday!“ Aired in-between the final shot of the two-hour ’Pilot’ episode (the “Executive Producer Donald P. Bellisario“ one over Jan-Michael Vincent’s cello-playing close-up!) and the End Credits (on it’s Sunday night premiere of January 22nd, 1984), this 30-second promo (voiced by the same continuity artist who would provide voice-overs to several of CBS’s promos throughout the 3 original seasons) advertises to viewers that “AIRWOLF“ isn’t just a one-off two-hour television “Movie of the Week“, but the start of a brand new weekly series. NOTE: At 00:25 is a shot of “AIRWOLF“ hovering inches above the ground, whilst slowly pedal-turning. This is how the shot was filmed on-location, but in the final cut of the episode, during the Finale Aerial Battle sequence, Editor Geoffrey Rowland sped the footage up, to make it appear that the helicopter could perform such rotation in just a second.
