GLASSDROPS featuring Marlo Fisken

Back towards the end of 2012 I decided to put the moves that were developing in my head on many subway rides into real life. These sequences of movement were created and filmed entirely on static pole. Here is Glassdrops... Featuring Marlo Fisken, Thanks to Michael Simses and GreismanPR. Marlo, the 2010 American Pole Fitness Champion, and 2011 Aerial Pole International Champion, has 24 years of dance training, and is a Wilhelmina Fitness model. She is a former NYCDA Senior Outstanding Dancer, a graduate of the Virginia Governer’s School for the Arts Dance Program, and graduated with degrees in Anthropology and Public Relations from University of Miami. Her credits include commercials for Nike, L’oreal, and Sobe Adreniline Rush, as well as ad campaigns for The Vitamin Shoppe and Dick’s Sporting Goods. She has performed with artists such as Diddy, Nelly, Pharell, Kid Rock, Wyclef Jean and Fabolous on MTV and VH1. Since she was 18, Marlo has led group exercise classes for major health clubs and presented at fitness conventions such as ECA, IDEA, The South Beach International Festival, and Festival de Fitness in Rome. She is certified many times over (ACE, AFAA, AAAI, NSCA, KANE) and has extensive knowledge of alignment, anatomy, strength and flexibility training. Marlo started pole dancing in 2007, and developed a style that draws from contemporary dance, yoga, hip-hop, and acrobatics. Her pole skills have taken her around the world, and landed her a full page spread in The New York Times, appearances on America’s Got Talent, The Colbert Report, Law & Order, 30 Rock, and a role in the feature film “Rock of Ages“ starring Tom Cruise, choreographed by Mia Michaels. She is also a 2013 Webby’s Winner in the category of Online Film and Video for “The Last Goodbye,“ a contemporary pole dance duet choreographed by Isis Masoud. Marlo has created content for Shape, Self, and Fitness magazines, and hosted fitness DVD’s for Pilates Power Gym and Prevention Magazine. Marlo teaches at Body & Pole in New York City and continues to study holistic nutrition and exercise science. She co-authored a new training program for pole fitness and flexibility, elevatED, launched in Summer 2013. Marlo is the creator of the innovative dance and fitness brand, Flow Movement.
