Pauline Matthews (born 6 March 1947), better known by her stage name Kiki Dee, is an English singer born in Little Horton, Bradford, West Riding of Yorkshire.
Dee is best known for her 1974 hit “I’ve Got the Music in Me“ and “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart“, her 1976 duet with Elton John, which went to Number 1 both in the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. During her career, she has released 40 singles, three EPs and 12 albums.

Kiki Dee recorded “(You Don’t Know) How Glad I Am“ in 1964 with an arrangement - by Les Reed - based on the Nancy Wilson recording: Dee then remade the song as “How Glad I Am“ in 1975, with an uptempo bluesy arrangement, and this version – produced by Gus Dudgeon and credited to the Kiki Dee Band – was issued that spring as the follow-up to “I’ve Got the Music in Me“, reaching No. 33 in the UK and No. 74 in the US. The Kiki Dee band version also charted in the Netherlands (No. 19) and Flemish Belgium (No. 30).
