Remembering Hormozd Gahvari - Illini Hillel Create A Jewish Legacy

Hormozd Gahvari, graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2003 with his BS; and in 2014 with his Phd. On Erev Rosh Hashanah 2016 Hormozd passed away after a long battle with Ewing Sarcoma. His parents, Firouz and Nasrin Gahvari made an endowment gift to Illini Hillel in his memory., allowing Jewish students at the University of Illinois to enjoy Rosh Hashanah meals for free for the future. In this video, Firouz and Nasrin share a little bit about Hormozd. He is sadly missed and all of us at Hillel are happy to celebrate his life during Rosh Hashanah.
