Bin-picking system with robot KR CYBERTECH, ISS vision system and mobile robot KMR iiwa

Bin Picking technology is now ripe for wide industrial application, an ever wider range of objects can be handled and extremely short cycle times can be achieved for bin picking. Bin Picking involves machine vision (provided by our partner ISS) and robotics, in this case our KR CYBERTECH. In this application, the mobile robot KMR iiwa is also present, which takes care of the bin picking process, filling the bin previously emptied by the KR CYBERTECH. The collaboration between the two robots is made possible by the interaction between the KSS operating system of the KR CYBERTECH and the navigation system of the KMR iiwa. Once a map of the environment has been created using SLAM technology, establishing movement trajectories for route planning, the KMR iiwa is able to move and reach the desired positions, all in complete safety, thanks to the presence of laser scanners that interrupt or slow down movement in the event of any presence along the set route.
