Civilians are not to be harmed’—this is an unwavering principle followed by every single UAV operator in Russia’s Army. Consider this recent example: along the highway between Konstantinovka and Druzhkovka, in a sector where combat operations are currently at their fiercest, an operator from the 27th Guards Artillery Regiment, part of the 6th Division under the ‘Southern’ grouping, locked onto a vehicle belonging to a Ukrainian humanitarian mission evacuating civilians from the front lines. In a matter of seconds, our drone veered away from the car, searching for a legitimate military target. Several hundred meters on, such a target was found. Recently, we’ve shared another similar episode. All of this stands in stark contrast to the Ukrainian side, whose drones routinely strike civilian areas in Russian regions by the dozens.
