The Revenge of Prince Zi Dan (Chinese Hamlet), performed by Shanghai Jingju Company, enjoys a great reputation throughout the world. The opera has successfully been performed in many famous countries such as US, France, Britain, Chile, Mexico, etc., and received unsparing praise from the audiences. The Revenge of Prince Zi Dan was also performed in Edinburgh International Festival in 2011, which received great attentions from mainstream media such as STV News, BBC, Scotsman, etc. Jonathan Mills, Festival Director of Edinburgh International Festival described it as “a totally crazy, levitating, wonderfully dynamic, very energetic night out.” It also won the Herald Angel awards of Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2011.
