Statement by First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyanskiy at a UNGA Meeting on the UNSC Annual Report (New York, June 11, 2025) Dmitry Polyanskiy: Mr. President, Russia has been consistently supporting efforts to refine the working methods of the Security Council, including in preparing relevant UNSC reports to reflect the activities of this body (which is the main UN body under the Charter), as well as the main challenges it faced during the period in question. This year, the duty to introduce this comprehensive document fell upon our country. The report, which was submitted on time, contains information on the measures to maintain international peace and security that were undertaken by the Council from January 1 through December 31, 2024.
