Jimmy Kimmel: What to expect in show’s return tonight | LiveNOW from FOX

Jimmy Kimmel is back on late-night TV but may not be seen by everyone in the country. “Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday,“ the Walt Disney Company, parent of the ABC network, said in a statement to FOX Television Stations. However, Sinclair Inc., which owns several ABC affiliates, said it will not be airing the show. “Beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting Jimmy Kimmel Live! across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming,“ the company said in a tweet. “Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return.“ Last week, ABC suspended Kimmel’s late-night show indefinitely after comments that he made about Charlie Kirk’s killing led a group of ABC-affiliated stations to say it would not air the show and provoked some ominous comments from a top federal regulator.
