Pt. Yogesh Samsi: A Brief Encounter

FEA met Pt. Yogesh Samsi at his school for tabla players. He explained the different approaches that a tabla player needs to use in a solo environment on the one hand and giving accompaniment to vocalists, instrumentalists and even dancers on the other. He went on to talk about his influences, teachers and the long list of musicians he has accompanied on tabla through his illustrious career. He will be accompanying violinist Kala Ramnath for the upcoming Gayatri Festival on 18th March 2016.
