‘Nightingale of India’ Lata Mangeshkar dies at 92, Bollywood superstar honoured with state funeral

She died at the age of 92 after being admitted to intensive care on January 11 with Covid-19 symptoms. Songs by the renowned artist appeared in more than 1,000 films, from Bollywood to Hollywood. Her catalogue spanned about 27,000 songs in dozens of languages including English, Russian, Dutch and Swahili. Her death was honoured by a state funeral and two days of national mourning.
