A Leaf From “Life“ The New Palladium Revue London (1926)

Scenes from the revue “Life“ at the New Palladium Theatre in London. Dancers are superimposed over the main title for an unusual effect. A fast Tango is danced by Hooker and Seaward as the chorus line stands behind them. There follows a period piece where the players are dressed in crinolines and dance a genteel parlour dance. Then a line of chorus girls do a high kicks routine with Clarice Mayne. G.S. Melvin (?) states that the girls perform 434 steps and kicks in the Conga style dance that follows. As well as the normal shot from the auditorium, there is also a side shot of the high kicks from the wings. Was item in Eve’s Film Review issue 279. Note: Clarice Mayne also appears in “Peeps Into Panto“ on EP007. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
