Rhythm Ostinato

A very different kind of spring concert. Our elementary school did a “Rhythm Ostinato“--a melody that is repeated over with slight variations throughout the piece. This concert was the culmination of five years of work with their music teacher, and the piece itself was written by the students in this fourth grade class. The school band consists of steel pans, keyboards, xylophones, metallophones, bells, drums, djembes, and even recycling bins.
