Feodor Chaliapin sings Glinka’s “Doubt“

There are not words to describe this performance from, I think, the greatest singer I have ever heard. Not an exercise of voice, but the deepest expression of a great soul. Even if something similar to a pianist, I have often thought that if there is an artist who I have desidered to be, he was just Chaliapin. The ending of this song, almost whispered, belongs to the most inner and heartfelt moments of my life. This performance is the celebration of the truth of the human being.
