Saint Saens-Siloti Le Cygne (The Swan) (Mary Alberta Siloti)
Home recording of Mary Alberta Siloti. She studied with Alexander Siloti and he taught her his technique for making tone which he was famous for. Recorded December 1968.
Recording after 9 months of practice after 20 years of not touching piano. Please excuse mistakes
Old school of playing, disciplined but expressive.
This ingenious transcription intertwines the melody between both hands. This is because unlike most other transcriptions of this piece which move the melody up an octave to separate the hands so one hand plays the melody without interference of the accompliment, this transcription places the melody where the cello would play it and has both hands sharing playing melody to avoid interference.
