Beachwear (1953)

London. At Mayfair’s Astor Club we see various shots of glamorous fashion models parading about in the latest swimsuits. Miss England of 1952, Lillemore Knudson (aka Karen Tamara?). shows off a stunning satiny one-piece. Good shots of onlookers in the audience; greasy-haired man lights cigarette. Patti Morgan wears a black and white striped beach jacket over a black swimsuit - “styled in Italy... adapted to British tastes“! Lillemore wears another glam and a satiny swimsuit; this one has rhinestones and sequins above the bust. Ex-Windmill girl Annette Gibson models a long one-piece swimsuit - looks like a leotard and leggings unitard effort. Daphne Moore wears a sharkskin one-piece with a lapel effect at the bust. Rita Grey (the ’Kodak’ girl) wears a chenille jacket over a very skimpy striped bikini (we only get to see the top half - maybe the bottom was too brief for Pathe!). Annette is shows off a satiny swimsuit called ’Midnight Plunge’, but our cameraman’s attention is caught by the bustl
