Gregorio Paltrinieri won gold at Rio 2016 in the 1500m freestyle. He is the current 1500 m freestyle (short course) world record holder. At Tokyo 2020, the 27-year-old Italian grabbed silver in the 800m freestyle and bronze in the 10km open water.
