A Raleigh Nitro mountain bike I got on eBay for £30, it had horizontal dropouts so it was the perfect bike to convert to a single speed. I wanted a go anywhere, simple to maintain, nothing to go wrong mountain bike that was built for the city and single track routes out of the city. It needed a front rack and I gave it a go myself and so far it hasn’t snapped, so for my first time welding, Im pretty happy, it was also half the cost of a new one.
