Bharatanatyam Malaysia - Mallari Allarippu

Raagam: Gambeeranattai; Taalam: Thisra Jathi Triputha/Sankeernam. The music simulates the mallari (procession tune) played on the nadaswaram when the deities are taken out. The Allarippu is a limbering sequence that involves characteristic bharata natyam movements of eyes, neck, shoulder blades, torso and articulation of feet. This is the Arangetram performance of ASWARA Dance Company directors Mohd Yunus Ismail and Norbaizura Abdul Ghani on 2 March 2011 at Experimental Theatre, ASWARA.
