The Robot Battleship (1930)

Full titles read: “The Robot Battleship - With our Navy in the North Sea.“ (new title) “The first line of defence - the steel shield of the Empire.“ North Sea. Various shots of a battleship at sea. Intertitle reads: “For many years firing practice has usually meant this kind of target.“ Rule Britannia. Various shots of a latticework target used for firing practice; it is moored in the sea, some distance from the battleship. Voiceover gives us more details about the target. Brief shot of men climbing aboard a ship from a boat. Intertitle reads: “Today sees the entrance of the wireless-controlled Battleship, . Centurion - the Robot of the Seas - as a moving target. (and shown for the first time in a Pathetone film.)“ - may be incorrect as title is obscured by timecode. L/Ss of destroyer HMS Chicari (?) alongside HMS Centurion, taking on board the crew, before firing practice. Voiceover tells us Centurion is now a robot ship, controlled by wireless from the destroyer. Intertitle reads:
