Do Squirrels Reject Genetically Modified Corn?

According to urban legend, squirrels and many other animals have a strong preference for food that is not genetically modified (GM). I questioned this urban legend and decided to do my own testing with oven-dried sweet corn. Eastern Gray Squirrels (Sciurus carolinensis) in my backyard were given a choice between GM and non-GM sweet corn. This experiment following scientific methodology with a null hypothesis, alternative hypothesis, replicate testing and statistical analysis. And the results were: There is no statistical evidence that squirrels in my backyard demonstrate a preference. Also, anecdotal observation indicates that birds feed on both GM and non-GM corn.
