Unbound by contemporary cultural norms and expectations, Calii adopts an eclectic view on the human experience, using art and sonic storytelling as a means to communicate a range of complex emotions and reflections on the nature and absurdity of existence. “METAMORPHOSIS is a project in which I reflect on a certain period in my life that spans from the dawn of fall 2021, up until early summer 2022. Sonically the work portrays a story of personal crisis, fear of authenticity, addiction, the acceptance of the human condition, and the beginning of a new phase in life. The project follows stages of mental decline due to a moral conflict with the self and serves as a description of the early-adulthood crisis.
