“Большевик уходит из дома“ (Bolshevik Leaves Home), also known as “Проводы“ (“Seeing Off“, or “Goodbye“), is one of the very first songs written to commemorate the October Revolution, the Russian Civil War, and the Bolshevik Party. The laborer insists that if he does not fight in the war to help the Bolsheviks, then everything that the Bolsheviks have fought for (i.e. freedom from the Tsar) will go to waste. The song was composed by Д. Василев-Буглай, set to a written poem by Д. Бедный, AKA Damian Bedny, one of the very first Soviet poets and satirists.
