This solo guitar arrangement of “Raglan Road“ pays tribute to one of the most famous and charming Irish songs of all times.
“On Raglan Road” is based on a poem by Irish poet Patrick Kavanagh (Inniskeen, 1904 – Dublin, 1967). Kavanagh’s verses were set to the music of an old traditional Irish tune, “The Dawning of the Day” (“Fáinne Geal an Lae”), by Luke Kelly. “The Dubliners” released their recording of the song in the early 1970’s.

I saw the danger, yet I walked along the enchanted way,
And I said, let grief be a fallen leaf at the dawning of the day.“
