Phil says: This is my collective interpretation of three Celtic tunes: ’Planxty Irwin’ is a well-known O’Carolan harp tune from Co. Meath, Ireland, whilst the two reels that follow are ’Miss McLeods Reel - a tune of Scottish origin, much loved by Ceilidh bands everywhere - and ’McGough’s Farewell’, which is the shards of a (unknown) reel learnt by osmosis, conjoined with a B-part that I made up myself, and wholly titled as a tribute to good friend and former band colleague Dave McGough, who left Birkenhead
