A very beautiful species of owl that can be seen inside forests and on the edges of open areas .mottled owl can survive in forest areas such as rainforests, dry thorn forests, woodland verges, plantations, and pine or oak woodlands. They also prefer habitats like broad landscapes with scattered trees. mottled owl is a medium-sized owl with adults reaching 280 to 355 mm (11.0 to 14.0 in) in length. Females are considerably larger than males. Mottled Owl feeds on small mammals (especially mice), reptiles, amphibians and insects and other arthropods. Probably takes small birds also. Hunting is normally from a perch, but may catch insects in flight.
