GUYANE WILD FISH SOCIETY was in Tampock River, Maroni Watershed, within the National Parc of French Guiana (Parc Amazonien de Guyane).
Expedition’s goal was to collect specimens and genetic material to complete data base for eDNA research. 106 fish species were observed or caught during a 10 days trip in an area highly impacted by illegal gold mining activity.
Expedition was partially funded by CEBA labex, with the collaboration of Parc Amazonien de Guyane, DGTM, Hydreco Guyane, Office de l’eau Guyane and the University of Toulouse (France).
Thanks to the Wayana guides and to Guyane Wild Fish Association members for their contribution. Enjoy and share
