Titles read: “Sawing sound! We’ve had Music from the air - meet Gene Morelle who shows how to get it —--“ (title obscured by timecode).
London (probably Pathe Studio).
M/S of Gene Morelle in a grubby white suit and hat, sawing a piece of wood in a forest (studio) setting. He hears some piano music playing and stops sawing. He sits down, puts the saw between his legs and hits it with a fluffy-ended drumstick to play a tune, ’Sunshine of Marseilles’.
Gene then gives us some tips on playing the saw; the trick is to bend the saw with the hand you are holding it with to get the desired note.
We then see Gene playing a tune, to piano accompaniment, on a balloon! He lets the air out of the balloon very slowly to play the tune. At the end of the ’recital’ he pops the balloon.
