Gray Wolf Summer

Gray Wolf: Summer Canis lupus Length: Tail: 35-52 cm Gray wolves are much larger than coyotes, Algonquin or Eastern wolves. Gray wolves are not very tolerant of people and have disappeared across much of their former range. Ranchers and shepherds went to great measures to hunt and kill them so that the wolves would not prey of their cattle and sheep. Gray wolves are pack hunters and very social animals. Pups are born to the dominate pair in spring and by late summer they are hunting with the rest of the pack. Today gray wolves are expanding their range once again.
